GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF PAPERS TO THE JOURNAL QUADERNS OF THE CATALAN INSTITUTE OF ANTHROPOLOGY

General guidelines

  1. Manuscripts may be written in Catalan, Spanish, French, English, or Portuguese. This initial submission must be anonymized (without author details or any references that could identify them). In the final version prepared for layout, authors will be asked to provide details about their affiliations.

  2. Submissions must be made through https://publicacions.antropologia.cat/quaderns/user/register (submissions by email or any other channel will not be accepted; registration is required).

  3. All translations must be linguistically verified (free of typographical, syntactic, or grammatical errors); otherwise, they may be rejected at the outset. Please ensure the final version you submit is carefully edited.

  4. The journal only accepts original and unpublished work, meaning it must not have been previously published in any printed, digital, or electronic format (journals, conference proceedings, websites, CD-ROMs, etc.), nor be under review simultaneously by another publication.

Submission format

Articles must be between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including references, footnotes, and the abstract. Times New Roman 12 // Justified // Line spacing 1.0 // No indentation

Quotations shorter than four lines should be included in the main text within quotation marks; longer quotations should appear in a separate paragraph without quotation marks.

Notes on tables, figures, and images

  • In the initial submission, tables, figures, and images should be embedded within the body of the article.

  • If the article is accepted, they must be uploaded separately: on the one hand, the tables, figures, and images; on the other, the document indicating where they should be placed (“Image 1,” “Table 2,” etc.).

  • Tables, figures, and images must be in formats editable during layout: png or jpg.
